Shortening lead times in product development

This company in the automotive industry implemented a change process which aimed principally to shorten lead times in the product development process. Prové’s consultant was the main project manager for the assignment, which entailed designing and implementing a standardised new working method with accompanying system support for the ten prototype workshops the company has in different countries.

The project team included people from the client company and several external consultants, and participants came from Sweden, France, Germany, Poland, South Korea, the US and India. The role involved responsibility for ensuring that the project delivered in line with set goals as regards time, budget and quality, for example. It also entailed a great coordination and communication responsibility, both within the project and with its various stakeholders.
