Introduction of a standardised working method in the healthcare sector

The aim of a standardised sequence of care was to shorten waiting times and reduce regional differences. The brief was to support the operation in designing and introducing a common new working method that met the national model. Prové’s team of consultants were change managers, and had the main responsibility for leading this process, which encompassed several administrations and affected some 700 employees. Since the change impacted many departments and such a large workforce, solid buy-in and a focus on change management were required.

The assignment resulted in the establishment of standardised new working methods for 31 diagnoses, and a method for further diagnoses to be added on an ongoing basis. A new organisation was designed and established, with responsibility for receiving new work processes and continuously evolving existing working methods based on demands from patients, the operation, the government and The Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions.
