Assessment of working methods and working environment in the local government sector
The municipal authority had to choose whether to continue working from its existing premises with cellular offices, or to refurbish into a different kind of working environment. It wanted to test the operation’s suitability for an activity-based work approach. Prové consultants led the assessment. Capacity measurements and group interviews with workers in the sector made it possible to map the existing processes, use of the existing premises and needs in the working environment.
Based on a desired future working method, demands on the physical workspace were formulated, and the assessment led to recommendations for a suitable solution. The brief included coaching managers in change management, as well as establishing an understanding of what changes in the physical working environments would involve from the perspective of the individual, the manager and the operation.
